A great technological commitment

We are the world's 7th largest wind operator by net installed capacity, second in Spain and leader in Latin America. We are also pioneers in the delivery of ancillary services with wind power in wholesale markets. For 2024, we have been awarded five wind projects in Thailand and the Philippines.

2023 Milestone

We have made great progress in the construction of Australia’s largest wind power complex (MacIntyre, 923MW). We also commissioned our first wind farm in Peru (San Juan de Marcona, 136 MWp).

Solar photovoltaic

An important international player

We are a significant international player in solar photovoltaics, with 2,951 MW of own capacity. In Europe, we pioneered the operation of a solar PV plant plus storage, and in 2020 we commissioned the first floating, grid-connected plant in Spain.

2023 Milestone

We commissioned three photovoltaic plants in the United States with a total capacity of 1,050 MWp (High Point, Fort Bend, Red-Tailed Hawk). We also completed our first hybrid renewable generation plant in Spain.

Solid technological experience

ACCIONA Energía has solid experience in this technology as it operates assets that are over 100 years old, including an 89 MW pumped-storage plant, which is a high-value storage technology for a back-up system.

A very promising future

ACCIONA Energía is a leader in the biomass feedstock supply logistics sector. In addition, we already have 61 MW from three pioneering biomass plants in Spain and 64 MW from a solar thermal plant in the United States.

2023 Milestone

This year, the Company began construction of the biomass plant in Logrosán (Extremadura), which will start producing energy in 2025, avoiding the emission of more than 165,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.

Battery storage

High-value storage

Fourteen years ago, we successfully completed Europe's first photovoltaic solar facility with battery storage. We also have a reversible hydroelectric plant with a capacity of 89 MW.

In 2023, we started operating the largest battery project in Texas (USA) to serve the electric grid, and we have a pipeline of projects under development in the country of more than 1 GW.

We are leaders in selling 100% renewable energy to customers both on a long-term basis worldwide and on a short-term basis in Spain and Portugal. We have been recognized by BloombergNEF for having one of the world's largest portfolios of long-term energy supply agreements.

We signed a 15-year power purchase agreement with Stanwell, the state-owned power utility of Queensland (Australia), comprising the entire production of the Aldoga 380 MW photovoltaic plant, due to come on line in 2025.

Electric vehicle charging

A business with great growth

The Company has grown solidly in the electric recharging sector in Spain, with a focus on urban, inter-urban and corporate charging. We are also testing the first bi-directional charging points with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology.

2023 Milestone

We reached an agreement with Cushman & Wakefield to install 172 charging points and partnered with IKEA to promote sustainable mobility in Spain through the installation of 567 public and private charging points at 16 of its stores.

Comprehensive solutions for businesses and residential customers

We have the capacity to size each customer's self-consumption capacity, whether it is a large customer, an SME, or a private business, to optimize their resources and maximize associated energy and economic savings.

2023 Milestone

We acquired the company Solideo to foster the self-consumption business among residential customers and SMEs. We also installed one of the world's largest solar-powered irrigation systems in Montesusín (Spain).

Green hydrogen

Key for decarbonization

In 2022, we inaugurated Spain's first industrial renewable hydrogen plant, establishing the first hydrogen ecosystem in Europe. We are also making progress in building out a significant pipeline of projects through the ACCIONAPLUG joint venture.

2023 Milestone

We have signed an agreement with a major industrial client for a 48 MWp self-consumption plant in Navarra (Spain), one of the largest projects of its kind in Europe. We have also set up the ACCIONA Nordex Green Hydrogen joint venture to develop green hydrogen projects in high-energy resource areas in the United States, Latin America, and Africa.
